A school for children with social, emotional and behavioural needs in Northampton has been highly commended by Government inspectors.
Officials from Ofsted visited Kings Meadow School in Manning Road, Moulton, earlier this month and reported back on a school with outstanding teaching, excellent care, and tremendous team spirit.

Headteacher Karen Lewis said: "We're thrilled that Ofsted has recognised the hard work and endeavour of all the staff, governors, pupils, parents and carers and graded our school as outstanding.

"We remain very proud of our achievements and are committed to building on this strong foundation."

The school has 28 pupils, aged between four and 11.

The Ofsted report commended it for its excellent care and education, its creative curriculum and committed staff. The inspectors also said pupils' attitudes and behaviour around the school was excellent.

Northamptonshire County Council's cabinet member for children and young people, Councillor Joan Kirkbride (Con, Bugbrooke), said: "This is a marvellous achievement and I congratulate the school on this outstanding report.

"It's clear from the report that the school goes to great lengths to support the children in a warm and nurturing environment, helping them to grow in confidence and ability."

The Ofsted team agreed that, to improve the school further, the already strong links with parents and carers should be extended.

Mrs Lewis added: "We are keen to promote a close working partnership with parents and carers, as we recognise that children make better progress and achieve their full potential when families and schools work in harmony."
