Hide AdPilots from the RAF display team will be heading home to Lincolnshire after a 645mph 'practice' formation flight around England and are due to be in the skies over Northamptonshire at 11.19am — although the route may change due to weather or other requirements
But it will take the nine Arrows' BAE Hawk aircraft about FOUR MINUTES to cover 30-odd miles across the county, heading south from the Chilterns towards Leicestershire and then on to their base at RAFA Scampton.
The planes are powered by a single Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour Mk 861 turbofan engine producing 5,700lb of thrust and giving them a top speed of 645mph.
Handy when you want your late for lunch and there's no speed cameras to worry about.
