A former RAF boxer from Northamptonshire has died at the age of 87.
Ken Incley, who lived in the village of West Haddon throughout his life, was a keen member of both Northampton and Leicester boxing associations and only gave up the sport to take over the family farm following World War Two.
He fought in matches all over the country and was trained by George Biddle, who also managed World Champion Hogan Bassey and British and European heavyweight champion Jack Bodell.
Mr Incley's daughter, Judith Brand, paid tribute to her father and said: "He was a very well respected man and everyone in West Haddon knew him from running the family farm.
"He was always mad about his boxing and kept in touch with both the Leicester and Northampton clubs, who all knew him very well.
"He was one of the only remaining people in the village from his generation, and he had lived here all his life. Many people will miss him."
Mr Incley served in Burma during the war and returned home to marry Joy, from Guilsborough, in 1947.
He is survived by Joy, their three children, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. His funeral will take place at All Saints Church in West Haddon at 11.30am on Thursday.
