Man and woman fined for Covid breaches in Northampton after riding quad bike in public field

"Riding a quad on a public field, off Stone Circle Road, is not essential exercise or travel"

A man and a woman were fined after they were stopped by police from riding a quad bike on the playing fields off Stone Circle Road in Northampton.

This happened yesterday morning (February 15) at around 11.15am after a 47-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were found riding a quad bike in the public field.

A Section 59 warning was issued to the man, who admitted to owning and riding the bike, and both offenders were issued with Covid-19 fixed penalty notices for Covid breaches.

The Northampton Neighbourhood Police Team said on Twitter: "Riding a quad bike on a public field, off Stone Circle Road, is not essential exercise or travel."
