A man has been charged with drink-driving after a car crashed through the wall of a Northampton business causing massive damage yesterday morning.

Wolfie's Cafe, in Earl Street, was left in ruins yesterday (April 26) after a high-speed silver Peugeot ploughed straight into its dining area.

Dramatic photographs show how the car was left jutting out of the diner amidst a pile of rubble and bricks.Now, Northamptonshire Police have confirmed a man - Andrejs Paukste, 26, of Connaught Street - has been charged with drink driving and failing to stop in connection with the crash.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the devastating collision.

Northampton cycling campaign and road safety group Critical Mass - who provided the video above - said: "We would like to remind drivers that although the roads are less busy, they still have to adhere to the speed limits, especially in residential areas".
