Muggers punch victim and grab mobile phone during street robbery in Northampton

Police are hunting a man and woman in their 20s following a mugging in St James Road, Northampton.
Officers revealed the attack happened at about 8.30pm when a 32-year-old man was approached as he walked from the town centre towards Weedon Road on Monday (May 11) .

Hide AdA spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "The woman asked him for a lighter and as he reached into his pocket, the man punched him, grabbed his headphones and pulled his mobile phone out of his pocket. The pair ran off along Althorp Road.
"The woman is described as white and in her late-20s. She was 5ft 2in, of a medium build with long black hair. She was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a grey and pink jacket.
"The second offender was a white man in his 20s, 5ft 6in, of a medium build with brown spiky hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey/brown jumper with a thick white stripe across the chest.
"If anyone has information or may have seen this incident, please call us on 101 quoting reference number 20000242717."
