“It suggests Northampton’s economy is in a very good position for the future.”
NatWest’s analysis shows there are now 1.6 million more people working in the UK than in 2008, but they are not doing the same jobs as they were eight years ago.
Highly skilled categories have grown strongest, expanding by 12.5 per cent.
Northampton was ranked third for its percentage of high-skill jobs in the East Midlands, which was the strongest region.
