Welcome to The Show - "We've saved you the best seat in the house..."

The first trailer for a new film penned by Northampton's-own legendary comic book writer Alan Moore has premiered online - and shows our town like no one has ever imagined it.

Set in a parallel Northampton that flickers in and out of surreal alternate world, "The Show" is expected to debut in 2021 after being shot entirely here in the town.

Yesterday (October 5), a nightmarish teaser trailer was released online with a first-look at the film that Moore says will "lift the veil of anonymity" over Northampton.

But the film promises to depicts the town as never seen before, and amid shots of Wellingborough Road and the Mounts are depictions of gunmen, a sinister nightclub and a courtroom filled with clowns.

Watch the first-look trailer for Alan Moore's "The Show" here.The dark fantasy film, which was shot entirely in Northampton, has been nearly three years in the making and is Abington writer's first feature film.

It is the story of a man searching for someone in a Northampton that after dark flicks into its parallel alternative "Nighthampton".

And the new trailer includes a shot of Moore himself in full silver make up leaning into the camera and assuring viewers: "We've saved you the best seat in the house."

The legendary comic book writer has seen his world-renowned comics V for Vendetta, From Hell and Watchmen adapted into box office hits at the hands of others – and has famously been scathing of all of them.

But The Show has seen him and director Mitch Jenkins embrace film like never before having spent years shunning offers to write scripts for Hollywood.
