Wellingborough ambulance attack sees eggs and coleslaw lobbed as medics treated patient

Paramedics treating a patient in Wellingborough came under attack from a passing pedestrian last month, police have revealed today (May 17).
The ambulance crew were on an emergency call out in Oxford Street, when a man threw two eggs at their vehicle, hitting the windscreen.

Hide AdAfter being spoken to by one of the paramedics, the man continued to shout and launched a tub of coleslaw at the emergency team, hitting the windscreen again.
A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: "Witnesses are being sought after a man threw eggs at an ambulance as the crew treated a patient in Oxford Street, Wellingborough.
"The incident took place between 10am and 10.45am on Sunday, April 25, when the paramedics heard something strike the vehicle, followed by a second bang. One of the crew got out of the vehicle and saw two eggs had hit the windscreen.
"He saw a man standing near to the vehicle and asked if there was a problem. The man shouted at the medic, removed a tub of coleslaw from his white carrier bag and threw it at the ambulance’s windscreen.

Hide Ad"The offender, who walked off in the direction of the town centre, was a black man in his 50s, with shaved white hair. He was wearing a cream/grey top, jeans and white trainers.
"Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or any passing motorists who may have caught the incident on dash-cam footage."
