Public thanked by Northamptonshire Police for help provided during Storm Doris
The force took more than 80 calls about fallen trees blocking roads during the course of the day, as well as other incidents involving storm-related damage and a number of road traffic collisions.
Superintendent Dennis Murray, of the Force Control Room, said: “Yesterday was a very busy day with a large number of Storm Doris related incidents coming in to us.

“I would also like to thank people for the patience and understanding they showed during the course of the day. Fortunately, this type of incident, involving a significant increase in demand upon us from all parts of the county, is rare and we worked closely with partners including Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire County Council to organise our response.”
Anyone willing to support the police and other agencies in similar incidents in the future is asked to call us on 101.
