Science fiction fans in conference in Northampton

A conference celebrating 50 years of the British Science Fiction Association is being held in Northampton this weekend.
Newcon 4 is being hosted at The Fishmarket in Bradshaw Street on Saturday October 11 and Sunday November 12, and will see an array of guests, exhibitions, talks, collectors' stalls, music, real ale and a barbecue.

The event features special guests and authors Iain M Banks, Ken Macleod, Storm Constantine and Paul Cornell.

There will also be readings, film screenings, debates, quizzes and an illustrated talk on Chinese Water Clocks.

The opening ceremony begins at 10.30am on Saturday, followed by the first debate at 11am discussing 'Does the future of science fiction lie in media other than traditional literature?'

Entry is £40 for the weekend and £25 a day.
