Nearly 50 youngsters from St Davids and Kingsthorpe in Northampton enjoyed a day messing about on the river, thanks to a community event organised by Northamptonshire Police and the area's Neighbourhood Management Board.
They built rafts and tried them out at the White Water Centre in Northampton yesterday.

Sgt Andy Labrum said: "It was a good chance for the young people to interact with police officers and police community support officers in a fun environment and give them a chance to try sports they may not have had the chance to do otherwise."
